I sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” in front of 1000+ people to start the conference off. Am I on DRUGS? What the heck was I thinking? I haven’t sung in YEARS!!! The whole time during this frightful experience, that oh so loud voice kept saying ‘don’t forget the words…. you REALLY sound off key…. OMG Megs- you’re embarrassing yourself”.
There’s nothing like the power of positive thinking (ARGH!).
I’ll try to find the video, but I’m bit scared to see the whole scenario. Being onstage singing is like being onstage in your underwear. I felt NAKED, NAKED, NAKED, and NOT in a good way…

I thought Meghan did well. There were a couple places where she used “For” instead of “O’er” and they needed to turn down the mic volume to adjust for singing rather than just talking, but it was good.
On a side note, the snide comment at the end about it being weird to sing the National Anthem at a conference was not in good taste. The guy who responded to that comment gets props from me.
