I’ve got to disclaim that I’m a little partial to the Lakers, but I think the Celtics were the better team and deserved to win the championship after their great season and the “greatest single-season turnaround.” That being said, I’ve got a couple observations:
- The alley-oop at the end of the game was excessive. I get it … enthusiasm and excitement and whatnot, but it’s not a classy move.
- Dumping Gatorade on the coach is an accepted tradition. In football. You’ve got the record for NBA Championships. You’ve got to be better than that.
- The foregone conclusion made the final buzzer pretty anti-climactic … people were already excited because they knew they’d win, so they couldn’t really escalate that excitement much when they actually did.
- I’m a huge fan of Kevin Garnett. I am not a fan of that interview at the end of the game. A lot of looking at the top of his head as he was “emotional,” and a lot of ridiculous questions that were only quasi-answered while he was off on tangent and preparing for his epic (though seemingly forced) scream.
