Halfway Nowhere

Still “The Mover”ing

June 15

Part 4 of The Mover is an interesting “aside” with some real-life (hilarious) anecdotes.

I don’t fit. I don’t fit. I almost felt chilled despite the overwhelming heat. Something in me very badly wanted to hide … I lurked around another bush trimmed to resemble a giant heart and then I spotted the source of the noise: three boys and two girls playing in a swimming pool … They were teenagers, alright, but better-looking than normal ones … Maybe it was simply a fact that good genetics possessed their own gravity and naturally attracted each other, and that all the good genes in Georgia had coalesced into this particular swimming pool. I disliked them immediately … My yearbook picture would go unnoticed, not just by the popular kids, but by everyone else, too … Frustrated and terribly uncomfortable, I decided to stand up.
Reading stories like this one makes me wonder if I’m missing out on anything in those “book” things.
