One of the things that is still a bit strange to me in the Tumblr interface is the inability to cleanly/clearly talk about a quote or a chat.

In a text post, the text is the content, so you don’t need to have an extra entry box.

In a photo post, the photo is posted and you have the ability to write a caption.

In a link post, you include the URL and an optional title, and you can add a description if you’d like to comment about it.

In an audio/video post, you upload the audio/video file and can add a description or caption.

When it comes to chats, you can title a chat and give the dialogue, but you can’t really talk caption or describe what’s going on in the chat.

On a quote post, you can write the quote and include the source, but there’s no way to talk about the quote without simply adding your thoughts to the “source” area. In a theme where the source is included before the quote itself *cough*, you have to add commentary in the actual “Quote” section … but when you do that, it shows up as part of the quote (and before the source) in the Dashboard.

It seems like there has to be an easier way to escape the chat/quote posts to add a simple caption or description without overcomplicating things.
